Honored by:  Irvine Ranch Conservancy

Cause Area:   Animals & Environment

Rocky Bruno first started logging miles on her boots on Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks when she became a Trail Guide in 2009. She was first introduced to the land through a Tai Chi program by a fellow Irvine Ranch Conservancy volunteer and she hasn’t stopped since. She regularly participates in a variety of programs such as Tuesday morning fitness hikes on the Hicks Haul Road, Mid-Week Hikes in City of Irvine, distance hikes, yoga, tai chi, and is a frequent supporter of Wilderness Access Days. After many years of helping to introduce the public to the land through guided recreational activities, she decided it was time to do more and has recently completed training for the seed farm, land stewardship and for the trail crew.

Additionally, Rocky volunteers with a wide variety of other organizations to continue her passion for the love of the land such as at Crystal Cove State Park and Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. A lifetime goal of Rocky’s is to complete a marathon in every state so you can definitely catch her training and sharing her enthusiasm for the great outdoors on a diverse range of programs. Her proudest accomplishment was when she trekked the 547 mile Camino from the Pyrenees in southern France to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain in 2016. Rocky is a great advocate for the land and its many resources as well as for the Conservancy itself. Thank you for all that you do, Rocky!
