Amy Roldan of UPS serves as an Executive Committee member on OneOC’s Corporate Volunteer Council of Orange County. This past year Amy went above and beyond in leading CVCOC’s annual corporate combined project, which mobilized 500 employee volunteers from 18 companies to revitalize Madison Elementary School and KidWorks in Santa Ana. In just 4 hours, gardens, murals, play spaces, and fence art were created, brightening the learning and recreational environments for 1,039 Santa Ana youth. It took months of coordination, creativity, and commitment to pull off this masterful transformation, and OneOC is proud and pleased to honor Amy for her volunteer passion and leadership.

Kim Sherman, President and CEO of Echo Media, serves on OneOC’s External Committee. Kim and her team have provided pro-bono service to create a marketing campaign for OneOC’s charitable giving cards. This resulted in key creative and messaging and media placements which not only helped during the holiday charitable giving period, but can be utilized all year long. Kim does everything with professionalism, passion, and incredible energy, even though all this work was done as a volunteer for OneOC. We are proud to honor Kim Sherman for her outstanding generosity in giving of her time, talent and treasure to advance OneOC’s mission to accelerate nonprofit success.

Katrina Headle has supported OneOC’s corporate and community initiatives for several years through her leadership on OneOC’s Spirit of Volunteerism Awards committee and as an Executive Committee member of our Corporate Volunteer Council of Orange County. From bringing in sponsorship to support OneOC’s mission to accelerate nonprofit success, to rallying company volunteer leaders to be a force for good, Katrina has been a vital part of OneOC.

OneOC transitioned our leadership model this year for CVCOC, and Katrina has been the person with the leadership skills necessary to make the changes. She has led the team with diplomacy, grace, and professionalism. Katrina will leave a legacy in the corporate and nonprofit community for her commitment to excellence and impact.

Her passion is contagious… and OneOC is pleased to honor Katrina as one of our Spirit of Volunteerism Awards heroes.

Union Bank

Union Bank’s volunteer team are Branch Managers from various offices throughout Orange County, with the exception of Rossina Gallegos, who represents the Corporate Social Responsibility Division of Union Bank. This group of volunteers help build a home in the city of Fullerton in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. The house was built with many energy efficient features and was designed to accommodate a family with a person with disabilities.

The Union Bank volunteer team enjoyed their contribution for a really good cause. They all worked hard and demonstrated real commitment for the project.

Lydia Mendoza is the Vice President and Branch Manager at Loara’s High School Branch. This is a branch inside the Loara High School in Anaheim. At this Branch, Lydia provides training and leadership skills to Senior high school students who qualify for the Student-Run Branch program. She also provides financial education training to the faculty and the parents of students at Loara High School.

During her free time, she provides financial education at the Boys and Girls Club and also at Project Access. Lydia is a person who gives back with her heart.

Marco Buenrostro is a Vice President and Branch Manager for Union Bank’s Superior Branch in Newport Beach. Marco’s passion is to mentor young men and women from underserved communities. He teaches financial education to young adults and adults in English and in Spanish.

Marco volunteers with many nonprofit organizations (Project Access, Los Angeles Food Bank). He coaches the NJB (National Junior Basketball), and volunteers at his local church. He also served as a board member for the Children’s Museum in La Habra.

Marco indicates that for him volunteering gives him a sense of “high in life”. He says “Witnessing a smile, a hand shake, a hug gives you satisfaction of worthiness.”
