Honoree: Phyllis Anderson
Honored by: Irvine Ranch Conservancy
Cause Area: Animals & Environment
Phyllis Anderson has been volunteering with the Irvine Ranch Conservancy since 2007. Over the last decade of service, she has given almost 800 hours to the activities and programs of the Conservancy. A former elementary school teacher, she now teaches and shares with visitors out on the trails. She is frequently found birding in Bommer Canyon, part of the City of Irvine’s Open Space Preserve, keeping an eye out for rare, feathered guests. An experienced, yet humble birder, she is always willing to share her most recent sighting with participants, volunteers and Conservancy staff. Phyllis also assists with children’s programming and outreach activities, engaging the next generation of nature enthusiasts. We thank and appreciate Phyllis for her longstanding commitment to the Landmarks and to the Irvine Ranch Conservancy.
