Honoree: Jean Savage
Honored by: OC Parks
Cause Area: Animals & Environment
Jean Savage has been volunteering at Caspers Wilderness Park for an extended period of time. Since joining in 2010, Jean has volunteered for roughly seven years at Caspers Wilderness Park. Jean is also a Caspers Park Foundation Member, a non-profit organization that plays an integral part in supporting Caspers Wilderness Park. During this time, Jean has been responsible for maintaining the nature center staffing schedule. Her efforts have effectively managed the nature center operations on weekends, holidays, and special events.
Without her support the park staff would be unable to share this interpretive gem on a regular basis. By her volunteerism, the public has access to incredible taxidermy displays, artwork, live snakes, and other interactive media that provide more details about the park habitats, plants, and animals. Jean also works tirelessly to maintain pertinent volunteer information. She keeps record of all Caspers Park Foundation volunteer hours and ensures that volunteers are up to date on their required trainings. Her ability to manage all these volunteers is an incredible help to park staff. Her presence is vital to the park nature center success.
Thank you Jean for your steadfast support and passion for Orange County open spaces and wilderness areas. Your service and dedication is very much appreciated.
