Honoree: Sloane Petrillo
Honored by: Girl Scouts of Orange County
Cause Area: Youth Services
Sloane has consistently provided Girl Scouts of Orange County over a decade of dedicated service in multiple areas including Troop Leader, Gold Award Committee, Adult Recognitions Committee Chair and Day Camp Director to name a few. She provides innovative girl-led opportunities and experiences to the girls she works with, whether it is at the troop level or during day camp planning and execution. She started the Irvine Day Camp many years ago and provides skill building opportunities for the girls who attend, including outdoor skills, community service, flag ceremonies and other fun activities that allow girls to have an opportunity to connect with others. Sloane provides guidance and mentorship to girls while planning large events for her local Girl Scout area such as Luau at the Lagoon – benefiting over 100 Girl Scouts, and introducing them to their first overnight camping experience. Sloan’s impact and reach is geographically broad, reaching all Girl Scouts in Orange County as she leads programs that help girls gain self-confidence and leadership skills. Bringing girls together to reach their full potential is what Sloane is all about.
