Shauna Le Bon was the first volunteer I trained as manager in 2015. And since then she has defined what it means to be a volunteer, taking initiative and doing whatever needs to be done. She understands that our Treasure Trove Gift Shop is an integral part of supporting the care of our patients, and therefore doesn’t hesitate to cover an extra shift when needed, and there have been many. She has gone the extra mile ble-bon_shauna-pacific-marine-mammal-center2y showing up to more than one quarterly inventory. Shauna’s shining personality makes every visitor feel welcome. She takes the time to educate our customers about items they’re interested in and about what we do, here at PMMC. She relates to all the children that wander in to the shop as well. Because of her passion for our cause at PMMC, she also volunteers in animal care and has served on our event planning committee. So whether it folding a hundred shirts for the Treasure Trove, or cleaning pens in animal care, Shauna does it all from the heart.

  1. Shauna dedicates three days a week to helping out at PMMC. Every Wednesday, Shauna volunteers a full day in our Animal Care Department; helping clean hospital units, feeding our marine mammal patients, assisting with rescues, among lots of other tasks. On Friday, she offers a friendly face in our gift shop from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Then on Sunday, she spends her afternoons volunteering back in Animal Care. Anyone who comes in contact with Shauna knows what a kind heart she has. We are very lucky to have her on our volunteer team.
