We would like to nominate Nirali Patel for the “Spirit of Volunteerism” Award this school year.  Nirali started volunteering at Shalimar Learning Center during the 2015-2016 school year and we have really enjoyed having her as part of our team.

Nirali is a senior at Beckman High School in Tustin, she is on the school’s swim team but she managed to make time to volunteer with us twice a week both years as time permitted.  Nirali has been extremely helpful and flexible in helping the students and staff no matter where she was needed during program.

Nirali has helped mostly in the homework room with tutoring but she has assisted in the reading workshop program, in our enrichment room and with assessments back in the fall when we were beginning to implement Success Folders.  On occasion, Nirali is asked to help with some decorations for the site’s bulletin board and she is always willing to help with a smile and a positive attitude.  She truly goes above and beyond.

Since Nirali graduates high school this year she will be transitioning to college so that she can work on her career path.  We will wish her the best of luck; however, we will miss her greatly.  It is such a pleasure to have high school students as dedicated as Nirali to be part of our program here at Shalimar Learning Center.

Thank you Nirali!!
