Since meeting Michelle in 2014, she has continued to be the lead champion for the American Cancer Society at her workplace, Peregrine Pharmaceuticals.  Always greeting each of us with a smile and warm welcome, she continues to say “Yes” to any project we identify and bring forward.  Michelle spearheaded Peregrine engagement in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer by coordinating a lunch and learn activity for employees and championed fundraising activities, team recruitment and led the efforts in our first “Strides Shines at Night” event to support the cancer research moonshot initiative.

Michelle has also been an integral part in the Santa Ana Relay fohughes_michelle-american-cancer-societyr the past several years. In 2016 she was a Team Captain and led a Team of 10 members and provided a sponsorship from her company to support the event.   This year Michelle has become even more involved with the Santa Ana Relay and has taken on a committee role of Team Ambassador. This role is responsible for retaining and recruiting volunteers to help with team retention, recognition, information sharing and mentoring.

Michelle gives 150% and is an exceptional volunteer who is passionate, dedicated, inspirational and willing to do what it takes to help lead the fight for a world without cancer.
