Mi Young Kim has been a faithful volunteer within the ReConnect Program since 2014. As a wonderfully skilled artist and instructor, Mi Young inspires and guides her participants/students to create absolutely stunning pieces of art that will make any spectator stare in awe. Truly embodying the spirit of volunteerism, every week Mi Young drives to each site to provide two fun filled hours of painting with acrylic and water colors. Mi Young’s classes not only provide a place for art, but create a space for individuals to come together, share in positive talk, and comradery, which is therapeutic in and of itself. With an obvious passion for art and also for volunteering, Mi Young empowers her participants/students to remember the joy of painting they once had, or to try painting for the first time, and just get out of the house and enjoy life.

“It is so rewarding to see the participants come every week excited to learn and create new art pieces. I am so glad I get to share art and painting with the participants, and it overjoys me seeing how much joy this group brings to them.”
