Jaimie Haver is a mom of a Blind Children’s Learning Center alumnus, and in 2004, she joined the Center’s Board of Directors.  That same year, Jaimie fulfilled her dream to unite hundreds of families at Blind Children’s Learning Center to celebrate the victorious accomplishments of their children with visual impairments.  Jaimie founded the Center’s major annual fundraiser – Destination Independence 5K Walk.haver_jaimie-blind-childrens-learning-center2

Over 13 years, she has given thousands of volunteer hours being an incredible ambassador throughout the community promoting the Walk.  She has spoken at countless community and corporate meetings, solicited in-kind donations worth thousands of dollars, acquired corporate sponsors, and motivated hundreds of Walk Teams.  Cumulatively, the Walk has raised more than $1 million.

In addition, Jaimie is a member of the Center’s fundraising support group, Cooking With Vision.  She serves on the steering committee where in 2013, she created the group’s annual fashion show.   The event not only raises funds, it also honors the mothers of many of our students.  They are invited to be models for the show.

Jaimie’s energy, dedication and never give-up attitude is an incredible asset to Blind Children’s Learning Center that we treasure.
