Honored by:  Huntington Beach Police Department

Cause Area:   Law Enforcement

Some of the words used to describe Mike are responsible and dependable.

Mike joined the RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) in 2009 and has been instrumental in encouraging other people to get involved with the program during this time.

Mike is the type of person that truly wants to assist this Department and the Community and demonstrates it with all he does.  He can be found working on a regular basis conducting Vacation House Checks and other Patrol duties.  Mike is often one of our trainers for new RSVP’s.

One of Mike’s trainees said, “he was always meticulously dressed, a rule maker, not a rule breaker.  He is supportive of the police department, in every detail possible.  Mike is organized, hard working, and pleasant to everyone around.  He accomplishes every task placed before him.  Every RSVP or volunteer should be proud to work alongside him.  He is a leader, quiet and resourceful.  He has high values and is interested in serving.

When Mike works the front desk at the police department, he is cordial and helpful in every way with the citizens and police personnel that need assistance.  He follows all procedures and is definitely a team player and here are just a couple of examples that show this: He will support and/or help any other volunteer when needed.  Even thought he has outside obligations, Mike will flex his schedule when possible to assist others.    When working the front counter he goes out of his way to walk citizens through the department to the person they have an appointment with or with anything else they may need.  His willingness to exceed all expectation of the job is admirable.

All of this, along with his cheerfulness, pleasant and friendly personality makes him an excellent role model for all RSVP’s.  The Huntington Beach Police Department is proud to recognize Mike Foreman, as Volunteer of the Year for the RSVP’s and thank him for his commitment, dedication and service.
